Seems not to be taken as spoof mails and they managed to pay them £600 for a buying from the irresponsible and unsafe eBay.
Just anyone could steal others account, put an item for sale, manage to take a bidders email, let him try to reach them as they vanish the item and then use a fake agent respond from eBay buyer protection program (protection program for eBay only and a management tool..), just to make thing more believable..
This story more detailed travels through the world and will carry on for as long as I live and any disappointed customer.

Here is the story:
Any eBay buyer could be a victim. The so called seller appears with a
product. He asks you to send him an email before you bid. Later when you win
the bid (when you win the item) he vanishes the item from the list. So you
ask him with an email for the reasons and he replies..:
"Ok the transaction is started. Please check your e-mail address carefully
because eBay have already sent you an invoice with payment and delivery
instructions.
Let me know if you got the invoice from eBay?
Thanks"
So I asked info from eBay (as I thought) about their agent. They replied:
"Dear Avraam Avramidis,
My name is Chris Edwards *and I'm glad to assist you .I`m the person that
handle this transaction.We like to inform you that you must send the payment
condirmation to our fax number: +44 8445852698.
Payment must be submitted via Western Union transfer ONLY to our eBay Agent.
We will secure the payment until the Buyer receives, inspects and accept the
item. Or, if it is the case, eBay will refund the full payment to the Buyer.

So I paid them an invoice, sent them my money. Later on (tomorrow morning,
after they got my money):
"Hello,
I have started your delivery today but it is a problem, my wife by mistake
have wrong your package with the other buyer and have sent you another
package which contain 3 units Apple MacBook Pro 15.4" i7 MC723B/A. The
package is on the way directly to your home address and the only problem is
that i am not able to return the package back so fast so i can send you the
correct package to you. To do this will take 15-20 days to get back the
macbooks and send you the correct package. That's why I thought to an
alternative if you accept this package which contain 3 units, because is our
mistake i will give a discount for the extra 2 units and the price will be
GBP 1,000 and think it's a very good offer. I propose this as to avoid the
delay of the transaction. I wait your fast decision and if you will decide
to buy them i will contact eBay to send you another invoice for 2 units for
GBP 1,000 . I'm very sorry to inform you this but i will hope that we will
have an agreement.
