Η Microsoft «πάγωσε» το πρόγραμμα backward compatibility του Xbox πριν δύο χρόνια, με τη σχετική λίστα να ανανεώνεται από σήμερα, και στην οποία προστίθονται 76 νέα παιχνίδια.

Η ανακοίνωση έγινε στα πλαίσια του εορτασμού 20 ετών Xbox, με την αρχική κονσόλα να κάνει την εμφάνισή της στην αγορά το Νοέμβριο του 2021. Η βιβλιοθήκη των παιχνιδιών περιλαμβάνει τίτλους από τις 4 πρώτες γενιές της κονσόλας, μεγάλο μέρος των οποίων είναι διαθέσιμα μεταξύ άλλων σε κατόχους Xbox Series X|S μέσα από το πρόγραμμα backward compatibility. Στις νέες προσθήκες παιχνιδιών περιλαμβάνονται οι σειρές Max Payne, Skate 2, Dead or Alive Ultimate καθώς και το Star Wars Jedi Knight II.

Όπως ανακοινώθηκε, και τα 76 παιχνίδια που προστέθηκαν σήμερα, θα υποστηρίζουν τη λειτουργία Auto HDR στις κονσόλες Xbox Series X|S. Επιπλέον τα παιχνίδια του αρχικού Xbox θα εκμεταλλεύονται και μια σημαντική αύξηση στη διαθέσιμη ανάλυση που υποστηρίζουν.

Ακόμα η λειτουργία FPS Boost προστίθεται σε 11 από τους 76 σημερινούς τίτλους, τα οποία πλέον πιάνουν επιδόσεις 60fps. Η πλήρης λίστα των παιχνιδιών που υποστηρίζουν τη συγκεκριμένη λειτουργία είναι διαθέσιμη εδώ.
