Η τιμη που πωλειται το PS3 σε συνδιασμο με το οτι προσφερει ΠΕΡΑΝ του gaming κ.λ.π ΚΑΙ δυνατοτητες αναπαραγωγης blue ray δισκων (για οσους ενδιαφερονται κ περα απο τη χωρα διαμονης τους ) καθιστα -αυτη τη στιγμη -την τιμη του (ιδιαιτερα του "μικρου" μοντελου) ακρως ελκυστικη..

Οπως αντιστοιχα πολυ καλη τιμη ως πακετο ειναι και το XBOX360 μαζι με το HD-DVD add on ....

 

Ολα αυτα σε σχεση με τα stand alone Blueray/HDDvd players ....

 

Απο εκει και περα τι αξιζει περισσοτερο σαν gaming κονσολα ή ποιο φορμά θα επικρατησει στο μελλον ειναι μια αλλη ιστορια ...

Ghostbusters Game Busted

Developer confirms spook-fest is on hold.

 

Yesterday, our Aussie-bound IGN colleagues feverishly reported on several mysterious, leaked videos showing an Xbox 360 game based on the Ghostbusters franchise. Today however, we've gone one step further and contacted developer ZootFly to see exactly what the hell is going on.

 

Excitingly, we can confirm that yes(!) ZootFly has been working on a Ghostbusters game and the videos that appeared on YouTube are indeed 100% legitimate. However, the bad news is that the game is currently on hold.

 

Bostjan Troha, CEO of ZootFly, told IGN UK: "We are very glad to see the overwhelming response to the Ghostbusters prototype movies. What you've seen is indeed in-game footage of early prototypes on the Xbox 360, running on ZootFly's proprietary engine. Due to licensing issues, further development of the Ghostbusters game hit a bump on the road. But everybody here at ZootFly is working actively on resolving the challenges with the owners of the Ghostbusters IP.

 

"Not to lose the momentum, a part the ZootFly team is currently working on an original game called TimeO, which is closely related to Ghostbusters. The game follows the adventures of two die-hard New Yorkers. They get trapped deep in the shadow world of a parallel New York. The city itself is a war machine threatening to wipe out our world and they have three days to stop it. As soon as the Ghostbusters IP issue is resolved, the whole team will go back to Ghostbusters."

 

Fingers crossed that ZootFly manages to surmount those licensing obstacles so it can continue making our 80s movie dreams come true.

Ο fanboysmos δεκτός είναι από μένα.... δικαίωμα του καθενός να γουστάρει ότι θέλει. Δεν παύει όμως να είναι και δικό του πρόβλημα όταν κλείνει τα μάτια στην πραγματικότητα.

 

Πραγματικότητα = 360 + Wii = ps3 x 10

 

Όταν βγούν αυτες οι παιχνιδάρες που λες θα το πάρουμε πολλοί και το ps3, παρ' ότι μας έχουν φλομώσει στις μπαρούφες η Sony kai oi fans της εδώ και 2 χρόνια. Τώρα όταν και αν οριμάσει η αγορά για το blue ray, το πιο πιθανό είναι τότε να έχουμε 40Mbps και να έχουμε καταργήσει εντελώς τα δισκάκια.

New Crysis Game Coming to 360

Straight-up conversion not technically feasible.

 

The folks at Crytek have stated several times that taking their ridiculously good looking PC shooter Crysis into the console world wouldn't be possible without sacrificing a noticeable amount of visual fidelity. But, clearly the demand is there, so what's Crytek to do? Apparently, take core elements of the PC game and develop an all-new Crysis game for Xbox 360, as revealed late last week on The 1UP Yours podcast.

 

Crysis is one of the first games to take serious advantage of Microsoft's DirectX10 technology, something that can't simply be patched into the Xbox 360 hardware. Consequently, a version of Crysis will be appearing on Xbox 360 eventually, tapping certain story elements of the PC version and structuring the gameplay differently to suit the console's strengths.

 

That still doesn't explain how I'm (or anyone, for that matter) going to afford a machine to actually run Crysis when it comes out later this year, but console owners can breathe a little easier now; hopefully an official announcement on the spin-off will be forthcoming soon.

Update:Crysis Averted

Rumors of a 360 version of the upcoming shooter are dead again.

 

There is no joy in Mudville. EA has officially stated that Crysis is not planned for Xbox 360.

 

In a recent installment of its weekly podcast, 1Up Yours, gaming website 1Up revealed that an Xbox 360 version of Crysis was currently under development. In the podcast, editors claimed that during CES they had spoken to developers at Crytek who asserted that the Xbox 360 version of the game would be completely different from its PC counterpart due to the 360's lack of Direct X10 support.

 

However, an Electronics Arts rep disputed the claims. Apparently, there was some sort of miscommunication which led the editors to assume that a 360 version of the upcoming shooter was currently in development. EA's spokesman confirmed that this was nowhere near an official announcement and expected a retraction to be forthcoming.

Man Makes Real-Life, Functional, Halo Armor

First he faced bears, now he faces bullets.

 

The future is very much now.

 

Engadget points to a Hamilton Spectator article on Troy Hurtubise, the Hamilton native behind the superb documentary Project Grizzly and equally superb bear-proof suit he designed for the film. What's Hurtubise done now?

 

He's spent the last two years building "a practical, lightweight and affordable shell to stave off bullets, explosives, knives and clubs." He calls the suit 'The Trojan.' From the Hamilton Spectator:

 

The whole suit -- which draws design inspiration from Star Wars, RoboCop, Batman and video games -- is made from high-impact plastic lined with ceramic bullet protection over ballistic foam.

 

One of the videogames that inspired Hurtubise? Obviously the Halo franchise. The suit weighs just 18 kilograms (just under 40 lbs) and could be mass produced, according to Hurtubise, for $2,000. The suit isn't just a shell though, Hurtubise has inserted all kinds of gadgetry and wizardry to make it functional (he hopes that Canadian soldiers will be able to don the gear in Afghanistan and U.S. soldiers in Iraq):

 

Its many features include compartments for emergency morphine and salt, a knife and emergency light. Built into the forearms are a small recording device, a pepper-spray gun and a detachable transponder that can be swallowed in case of trouble.

 

Dangling between the legs, that would be a clock.

 

In the helmet, there's a solar-powered fresh-air system and a drinking tube attached to a canteen in the small of the back. A laser pointer mounted in the middle of the forehead is ready to point to snipers, while LED lights frame the face.

 

Since we have the armor, now all we need are some genetically tuned superhumans, an alien invasion of religious zealots trying to go on some "great journey" and we'll be ready for the future.
