GTA IV Gets a Special Edition

Available for pre-order now.

 

Not that any of us are all that surprised, but today Rockstar announced that a special edition version of Grand Theft Auto IV will be hitting store shelves alongside the regular version of the much-anticipated sequel. Come October 16 in North America and October 19 in Europe, fans of rampant crime-sprees can have their feast of felonies in two different flavors.

 

The Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition comes inside a metal safety deposit box and contains a number of items besides the game itself. An exclusive art book will showcase production artwork used on the game and a soundtrack CD will highlight the music from "top artists" that is featured in the game. In addition, Rockstar fans will find themselves the proud owners of a Rockstar branded keychain and duffel bag.

 

Pre-ordering has already started for the Grand Theft Auto Special Edition, which will retail for $89.99 when it releases this fall.

Limited Edition for Creed

Ubisoft's Assassin gets the special treatment

 

IGN has learned that Ubisoft will announce tomorrow the release of an all-new "limited edition" version of Assassin's Creed. Scheduled for shipment "later this year," Assassin's Creed Limited Edition will be distributed in much lower quantities than the regular SKU (hence the "limited" moniker and not a "special" one).

 

Though the limited edition's gameplay content will be identical to that of the standard version, Assassin's Creed LE will boast a number of bonus supplemental content items. In addition to a specialized tin packaging, the game will also include a figurine of lead character Altair, Penny Arcade comics, a miniature strategy guide, and Assassin-themed short films. Behind-the-scenes videos, official trailers, developer diaries, producer interviews and other unnamed goodies are also planned

Assassin's Creed Limited Edition, release date unknown, will retail for $69.99 (US) and be available for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The standard version will ship at $59.99.

Xbox 360: 61 Per Cent Failure Rate?

 

When it comes to the "Three Rings Of Death" (TROD for short), the Xbox 360 is becoming all to familiar with the term. So just how bad is Microsoft's next-gen console's failure rate? Take a look at this survey, which takes a fresh look into the problem, and attempts to update the failure rate situation.

Everywhere you turn, thereʼs another story of a broken 360 and anyone you speak to has either had their console fail on them, or knows of many others who have. It really is the problem that simply wonʼt go away.

 

Well, with Microsoft sticking to its 4 – 5% failure rate story, we figured weʼd have another look at our survey, which has at the time of writing attracted 3780 submissions and 2355 comments – the majority of which are from angry owners who feel cheated by the Xbox 360ʼs build quality and Microsoftʼs after sales service.

 

One example of this was left by Gamertag Jarandco, who commented: “Had original Xbox 360 [die] after about 14 months. Due to it being out of warranty had to pay £80 for it to be fixed, well for them to send me a different one anyway… I disagree with having to pay that after they repaired the American 360s for free, they werenʼt very helpful on the phone either!”

 

At the time of writing, 2,315 (61 per cent) responses to the survey have complained that theyʼve got through at least one console, with many having got through even more than that. Obviously we accept that our figures are probably skewed towards the negative, but such a response is still unprecedented and weʼre sure that if in a years time we ran a similar survey on our sister site PS-Gamer.com we wouldnʼt get anywhere near such a response. In fact, we may well do this… Anyway, itʼs not just us who believes this problem is beyond that of other consoles, after getting through 3 consoles, Gamertag henk live left the message: “MS dare to say they don't have a problem (Yeah right), I have been a gamer for 25 years and I never have seen this kind of reliability with a console.”

Παντως για τους ατυχους , υπαρχουν δυο πολυ ευκολες μεθοδοι με πολυ μεγαλα ποσοστα επιτυχιας (οχι με κουβερτες και πετσετες....)

Αν καποιος εχει χαλασμενο 360 που καθεται, καλο θα ειναι να κανει μια προσπαθεια....
