Xplorer360 v0.9 (Beta 1): Read/Write access to Xbox 360 HD and Memcard

With read and write support to the Xbox 360 harddisk and memcard it means you'll be able to share gamesaves over the internet, 360gamesaves.com has a gamesaves database and upload script waiting to be used

You can connect your Xbox 360 HD on your PC via an SATA controller, the memorycard can be connected via USB (see how here or here).

The Xbox360 saves are usually in /content/<profileID>/<titleID>/ of partition3 on your Xbox 360 HD. Xbox 360 gamesaves can be transfered to another Xbox 360 console and profile, but all 'LIVE achievements' will be disabled of course (achievements are linked to the LIVE profile). A dumbed down version of xplorer360 made specially for gamesaves manipulation will be released soon which should make it easier for beginners to find their gamesaves.

 

Also interesting - this tool will allow you to move over your old Xbox 1 gamesaves to your Xbox 360 (they will probably have to go somewhere in /partition3/H2/TDATA and /partition3/H2/UDATA), something that was impossible up to now.

 

But of course it'll also allow you to navigate the rest of the disc, so you can check out all the stuff located on the drive, like the music stored on your drive or what you downloaded from Xbox LIVE for example (demos, live arcade, themes, videos ...).

 

Note: Before people try to launch crazy ideas again: No this does not allow you to copy retail games (signed for XBOX360DVD media only) to the HD and play them. It's a tool that gives you access to the Xbox 360 HD and Memcard from a PC, it does not hack/bypass any security.

 

*UPDATE* BUG: One confirmed bug has been found and can be harmful if not known. Do not attempt to insert a file with the same name into a folder. If the filename already exists, delete it then insert your new one. Look for an updated/fixed build soon.

Phantasy Star Universe 360 Bound?

 

 

I’m a huge Phantasy Star Online fan, i loved it from the first version on the Dreamcast, up until the Xbox version and even the more recent PC version, so when Phantasy Star Universe was announced by Sega i got excited before quickly being disapointed to find it was only coming to the PC and PlayStation 2.

 

So when i heard this rumour i got a little more excited, taken from PSO-World.com, a rumour in a recent issue of EGM claims that Phantasy Universe will be heading to the Xbox 360 just a few short months after the PS2 version hits stores.

 

"Roughly 250 hours - that’s how much time The Q has logged on all the different versions of Phantasy Star Online. So yeah, you could say that I’m a tad bit excited for this summer’s full-fledged sequel, Phantasy Star Universe. And now it seems that PS2 owners won’t be the only ones losing their social life to this off-and-online role-playing game, as PSU will also arrive on the Xbox 360. Oh, one more thing: If you start playing the game on Sony’s console, you will be able to transfer your online character - thanks to all stats and items being saved on Sega’s servers - to the Xbox 360 version (which will hit a few months after the PS2 installment)."

 

Apparently this ‘Q’ guy is a very reliable source and is yet to get anything wrong, so heres hoping.

Μού φαίνεται ή υπάρχει ενα διαρκές άγχος για να αποδειχτεί οτι το xbox είναι καλύτερο απο ένα pc? Επίσης με το far cry δεν έγινε κάτι το ιδιαίτερο..Απλώς μπήκαν νέα εφέ και τροποποιήθηκαν οι shaders όπως διαβάζω παραπάνω για να γίνει καλύτερο στο xbox...Τι σας κάνει να πιστεύετε οτι δεν μπορεί να γίνει το ίδιο και στο pc ? Ασχέτως αν δεν θα το κάνει η ubisoft...

φιλε μου τα pc τα μετραμε με benchmarks, και τις κονσολες με pc.

εγω τουλαχιστον ετσι ηξερα παλιοτερα.

εννοειται οτι ΗΔΗ -αν τα λεφτα δεν ειναι προβλημα- μπορεις να φτιαξεις pc με πολυ πιο δυνατα specs απο το 360. ποσο μαλλον σε 12 ή 24 μηνες.

δεν ειμαστε ουρακοταγκοι..

 

το θεμα ειναι οτι σημερα ακομα και ενα pc 4 φορες πιο δυνατο απο το ηδη αρκετα δυνατο 360, ΔΕΝ εχει να δειξει κατι παραπανω.

και με τον τροπο που φτιαχνονται τα games ("ψαλιδισμα" μεχρι να τρεχει στο μεσο ορο pc), δεν νομιζω οτι πολυ συντομα θα βγαινουνε στο pc games που δεν θα τα πιανει το 360..

και σε θεμα κοστους και ευκολιας χρησης,δεν νομιζω να διαφωνεις ποια λυση υπερτερει..

Αυτά μπορείς να τα απενεργοποιήσεις αλλά θα βρεθείς σε δύσκολη θέση πολλές φορές μέσα στο παιχνίδι εάν το κάνεις.

Δεν έχει να κάνει με το εάν βλέπεις καλά η όχι.

Οι εχθροί μπορεί να είναι κρυμένοι σε οποιοδήποτε σημείο της πόλης πολύ μακρυά από εσένα και είναι δύσκολο να τους έχεις όλους στην μνήμη σου.

Με αυτόν τον τρόπο εάν τους εντοπίσεις με το μονόκυαλο μία φορά , τους κρατάει μαρκαρισμένους και μπορείς να τους βλέπεις ακόμα και εάν φύγουν από την θέση τους και κρυφτούνε σε άλλο σημείο.

Αυτή λειτουργία μπορεί να φαίνεται χαζή όταν κάνεις μία κλειστή οδομαχία , αλλά όταν είσαι σε μία μεγάλη πλατεία με τους εχθρούς να είναι κρυμένοι σε διαφορετικά κτήρια,ταράτσες,στενά κτλπ , είναι παραπάνω από χρήσιμο.

Πίστες σε φύση(δάσος) έχει , αλλά εάν εννοείς πυκνή ζούγκλα δεν το νομίζω.

Explosions and car deformation are impressive, but environmental similarity and persistent slowdown mar Full Auto's visuals.

The music is weak; loud, crisp sounds enhance the game's many weapons and elements of destruction.

Fun for the first few hours, then it gets stale. Simplistic racing physics lack of impressive sense of speed. Making things explode remains entertaining.

Despite the recent shortage of new games, Full Auto isn't the title to ride triumphantly into your Xbox 360's disc tray and soothe your aching boredom. It can be fun to play, but there's nothing refreshingly new or unique about it to compensate for its shallow gameplay. The only way this title is going to survive more than five or six hours in your Xbox 360 is if you play online, but the lag issues could definitely turn you off. While games like Kameo: Elements of Power and Condemned: Criminal Origins offer similarly short single player experiences, they were far more interesting games to play. Despite Full Auto's explosions and destruction, it still feels generic and dated at times. The environments get boring, there's more graphical slowdown than there should be in a next-generation title and the gameplay mechanics soon become tiresome, regardless of how they're dressed up and altered in Career mode. Even though online play is more fun, it still feels very similar to the single player experience. If you have a passion for vehicle combat and don't care about sophisticated driving mechanics or track design, Full Auto can be an enjoyable experience. For those looking for a game with more substance and lasting value, save your dollars.
