heyou Δημοσ. 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 Δημοσ. 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 Εlebits Review Closing Comments Elebits is a great first wave Wii game. Not only does it present some interesting new gameplay mechanics, but it makes full use of the Wii remote to enhance the experience. It's clear that the title was hatched from the very beginning for Nintendo's new console and it's refreshing to encounter a game that could not be done well on any other videogame system. I have to note, it really is a lot of fun just to pick up items and toss them around in the worlds that Konami has created; it feels great. And when you add in the fact that the stages present unique challenges and all sorts of nooks and crannies for Elebits to hide in, I think you're going to find hours of solid entertainment waiting here, especially when you consider the multiplayer mode and map builder, which enables you to trade created levels with friends over WiiConnect24. My hat is off to Konami for going the extra mile. But the game does have its limitations. For one, the physics are not quite as tight as they could be. Whether you're picking up a diesel truck or a flower pot, the objects will have the same floaty, bouncy feel to them. And further, while the game does a lot with physics, it doesn't do much with visuals, which means that the worlds and objects you encounter will have a blocky, dithered look to them. If you're looking for a visual stunner, Elebits is not for you. But if you just want a really fun outing that's every bit as original as it is engaging, I think Elebits is your game. This title is destined for sleeper status. 6.0 Presentation Gorgeous illustrations and absolutely horrible voice-work combine for simple, archaic storytelling. Easy menu access and quick load times. 6.5 Graphics Good, but far from spectacular. The real show-stopper is the physics engine. The look is otherwise very simple, with blocky worlds and too much dithering. Runs in 16:9 and 480p, which is nice. 6.0 Sound Great sound effects, but the music is forgettable. 8.5 Gameplay Really fun and wholly unique. Control is pixel-perfect and speedy and manipulating the objects with a sense of physics is just short of addictive. Fun level puzzles and challenges, too. 9.0 Lasting Appeal A robust single-player affair, a multiplayer mode and a map editor that works with WiiConnect24 combine for a deep experience that you'll want to come back to again and again. 8.3 Impressive OVERALL (out of 10 / not an average)

kostacurtas Δημοσ. 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 Δημοσ. 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 Wii Catch Alien Syndrome Action RPG set in sci-fi universe coming in summer 2007; single-player, cooperative modes feature 20 weapons, 100 different enemies. Yesterday, Sega announced that it would be publishing games based on the universe of the Alien films. Today, the company revealed it will be releasing Alien Syndrome in 2007--a game about a heroine who takes on a dangerous race of outer space inhabitants. However, though the similarities may be uncanny, this isn't the first game based on Alien or any of its sequels. Alien Syndrome is instead based on the classic Sega arcade game, which later made appearances on home consoles in the late 1980s. The game will be released on the Wii and PlayStation Portable simultaneously in the summer of 2007. The action role-playing game is being developed by Totally Games, which also worked on the space-flight-combat X-Wing series for the PC. Playing as Earth Command Trooper Aileen Harding, gamers will take on more than 100 different types of aliens and learn new abilities and skills as they progress. Aiding players in their cause are 20 different weapons, including quad-barreled lasers, nanobot swarms, and more conventional flamethrowers. Accompanying Aileen is an indestructible robot that serves as both an ally in battle and a vendor from which she can buy items. The robot can also upgrade existing weapons, as well as itself with new abilities. Alien Syndrome on the Wii will utilise the Wii Remote's unique gyroscopic feature by enabling players a full range of motion when slashing through enemies, unloading devastation on bosses, or running and gunning through hallways. Players will also be able to access various new game modes and mechanisms. These extra features include using the Wii controllers to craft new items, to enhance existing items and character abilities and to hack into computer systems. Confirmed: Non-Nintendo USB to Ethernet adapter working. Nintendo.com forum member has reported that the KINAMAX USB 2.0 to RJ45 Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-T Network Adapter is working fine with the Nintendo Wii Console: -"I just received a KINAMAX USB 2.0 to RJ45 Fast Ethernet 10/100 Base-T Network Adapter and it works fine with the Wii. Beats having to wait until January to have a fast reliable internet connection." -"Does the wii channels and everything work fine?" -"Yes, so far everything is fine. Can send and receive messages, browse the Shop Channel, and WiiConnect24 is working." Zelda: Twilight Princess Collectorʼs Edition Guide Gamecube Special Edition

privateer Δημοσ. 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 Μέλος Δημοσ. 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 Wii sold 325,000 in 2 days 13th December 2006 – Wii made its highly anticipated debut across Europe on Friday 8th December, with thousands of people desperate to get their hands on Nintendoʼs new console. As the must-have product for the festive season Wii was an instant hit. Attracting vast crowds and selling out in stores all over Europe in just a matter of hours, a breathtaking 325,000 units were sold in the first two days making it the fastest selling home console in history. Demand for Wii has been so great that shops all over Europe had large queues forming outside for up to three days before the launch and hundreds of shops opened their doors at midnight on launch day to allow gamers to get their hands on Wii. After just one weekend on sale, shops across Europe sold out of Wii consoles and daily shipments are now arriving across Europe to replenish stock. (EDIT REALLY??) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess proved to be a favourite for avid gamers, with 240,000 copies snapped up over launch weekend in Europe, representing 74% of all hardware purchasers. Wii Play was also a big hit with over 50% of people buying the game (which includes a Wii Remote) along with their Wii console. Laurent Fischer, Marketing Director for Nintendo Europe commented: "Wii has become an overnight success in Europe with people of all ages rushing out to get their hands on the console. Even at this early stage it is clear that Wii is delivering on its promise to expand the gaming market, with a uniquely diverse audience all keen to experience the sensation for themselves. "For those who were unable to buy Wii during the launch weekend, rest assured more stock is already on its way and we are doing everything possible to ensure that a steady supply of Wii units is shipped to stores across Europe throughout December and into 2007.” Commenting on the launch Tim Ellis, Head of Games, HMV UK said: "The demand for Wii has been truly amazing, and the official launch at our Oxford Street store was one of the biggest events we've ever staged there. HMV has received a huge amount of customer pre-orders - beyond anything we've ever seen before, including from family shoppers as well as dedicated Nintendo gamers. This suggests that while Wii is obviously one of the must-have items this Christmas, it also has the potential to appeal to a huge mainstream audience over the longer-term." Wii mania in Europe follows the phenomenal success of Nintendoʼs console in the Americas and Japan, where over a million units have been sold in just three weeks. In the Americas, where the console launched on the 19th of November, 600,000 consoles were sold in the first 8 days from launch. The Japanese launch saw similar success with around 400,000 units being shipped to stores for launch day and selling out during the first morning on sale. After just a few days of sales in Europe the Wii seems to be achieving similar success. While Wii enjoyed a hugely successful launch, Nintendo DS also had a record-breaking week with 515,000 units sold across Europe last week, which is not only the highest week's sales since the consoleʼs launch but also the most any console across all formats has ever sold in a week! Nintendoʼs handheld phenomenon has taken Europe by storm since its release in March 2005, with over 8.5 million consoles now sold across Europe. heyou Δημοσ. 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 Δημοσ. 13 Δεκεμβρίου 2006 Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz cubed3 Review Score 7 Graphics Bright, hardly the best ever but do the job effectively in that typical overly exuberant Monkey Ball way. If you like bright, cute graphics then look no further. 4 Sound Repetitive, cutsy, bouncy yet vaguely electronic music. Good at first then you will hit mute, guarenteed to annoy you and those in your house. 3 Gameplay Wii should make controlling games second nature, quite how Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz got past quality control with this wrist crushing control scheme is beyond us. Makes what should be a genre defining game unplayable. Combine this with lacklustre multiplayer modes and awful boss fights and you have a VERY low score. 6 Value Single player mode (even with wrist snapping) shouldn't last more than 3 nights, multiplayer mode is where you'll spend your time and with fifty mini games you will spend a great deal of time in there if you enjoy the game. 5 Final Score Oh deary dear, sad to see a great series slip into an average score. But this feels so rushed, control scheme just doesn't work and the mini games feel more like tech demos. We could say it's typical launch day gaming but the original launched with the Gamecube and is still a great experience. This is just lazy, avoid at all costs.
