DivX 5.0 Ads solution

Guide to remove gator/gain ad's from divx5 adware version.

 

2 solutions to do it.

 

Needed software:

 

DivX5 Pro (Ad-Supported) http://www.divx.com/divx/ (DivXPro5GAINBundle.exe)

 

Lavasoft Ad-aware http://www.lavasoft.de/aaw (aaw.exe) don't use anything else.

 

DivXPro5GAINBundle_fix.zip

 

Uninstall DivXPro5Bundle.exe if installed.

 

Supported OS's: Win98SE , W2k , WinXP, NT

If you install the ( DivXPro5GAINBundle.exe ) and after that you delete

 

all Gator related with Ad-aware, then the codec will not work.

 

Solution 1:

 

When you are removing spyware with Ad-aware :

 

( BTW, after installing DivXPro5GAINBundle.exe Ad-aware will find more components which are not shown picture below,

 

beacuse this shot was taken after Ad-aware cleaning operation.)

 

This is the key that divx5 wants to see there...

 

And you can manually check with regedit:

 

Finally ReBoot PC after using Ad-aware, next time when OS loads up gain_trickler_3102.exe should not be in use anymore.

Solution 2.

 

If you removed all components in Ad-aware then no problem... just run :

 

fix_divx5.reg

 

which is included in the DivXPro5GAINBundle_fix.zip file.
