Σκεφτήκατε επίσης ποτέ ότι αν τα Windows ήταν POSIX Compliant θα έτρεχαν με ελάχιστες τροποποιήσεις σχεδόν όλα τα προγράμματα των *ΝΙΧ συστημάτων και αντίστροφα;

η πλακα ειναι οτι τα windows (NT και πανω) εχουν μεσα στις εικονικες μηχανες τους win32 , win16, OS2, και POSIX μηχανη..δυστηχως δεν επαιξε ποτε..η μαλλον για να παιξει πρεπει το προγραμμα να δεχθει διαφορες τροποποιησεις I Guess!

Είχα να δοκιμάσω linux απο την εποχή του Mandrake 8.0 το οποίο δυστηχώς είχε πολλά προβλήματα (για καποιον τουλάχιστον που δεν ήξερε Χριστό απο linux σαν εμένα). Το περιβάλλον μου φάνηκε πρωτόγονο η υποστήριξη ελληνικών προβληματική και ο LILO μου πείραξε και την εγκατάσταση των XP.

 

Τις προάλες ξαναδοκίμασα το Mandrake 9.0.

Με λίγα λόγια το θεωρώ ΤΕΡΑΣΤΙΟ ΒΗΜΑ!!!!

Είναι πολύ πιο σοβαρό, Τα ελλήνικά τέλεια, η υποστήριξη συσκευών (από εκτυπωτή έως κάρτα TV) σχεδόν τέλεια (μόνο το μοντεμ MDP3858SP-UE της rockwell δεν δούλεψε αλλά και αυτό το προσπαθώ), το περιβάλλον πολύ πιο σταθερό και o Samba για την επικοινωνία με το τοπικό δύκτιο πανεύκολος.

 

Το συστήνω ανεπιφύλλακτα.

Ελπίζω να συνεχίσουν οι εκδόσεις του linux να βελτιώνονται με τέτοιο τρόπο!!!!

Και εγώ τα mandrake9.0 έβαλα τώρα αλλά μόνο κονσόλα γιατί δεν το pc στήθηκε για server. Για περιβάλλον δεν μπορώ να πω αφού δεν έχει γραφικά κλπ αλλά από συσκευές μια χαρά (εκτός από netmod..κλασική μλκια).

 

 

Και κάτι άσχετο...

Μήπως μπορεί κανένας να μου πει: Θέλω να περάσω έναν άλον kernel compiled με κάποια tools. Τα προγράματα/server που έχω περάσει θα παίζουνε μετα (IRCd,Shoutcast) ?Επίσης, ο kernel είναι σε rpm μορφή. Πώς θα τον περάσω? Πχ πριν έκανα make menuconfig...τώρα?

Τί εννοείς ο kernel είναι σε rpm μορφή;;;; Μήπως εννοείς τα kernel sources; Αν τα πέρασες και έχεις κάνει και make menuconfig, μετά δίνεις απλώς make dep && make bzImage && make modules && make modules_install και αντιγράφεις το arch/i586/boot/bzImage στο /boot. Τα προγράμματά σου θα συνεχίσουν να δουλεύουν, όσο δεν έχουν τα ίδια κάποια modules, οπότε θα χρειαστεί να κάνεις recompile, γιατί έχουν αλλάξει τα σύμβολα του πυρήνα.

 

apoc: Ναι, όντως υπάρχει POSIX vm στα ΝΤ,2000,ΧΡ, αλλά παρ'όλα αυτά τα λειτουργικά είναι POSIX compatible, και όχι POSIX compliant.... Στην πραγματικότητα δηλαδή η μηχανή POSIX των windows υποστηρίζει ένα περιορισμένο υποσύνολο του POSIX.1 και οι εφαρμογές δεν έχουν καθόλου καλή επικοινωνία με το σύστημα, οπότε...

crazy_piston: κατέβασα το kernel-2.4.19.24mdk-1-1mdk.src.rpm και θα το πέρει ένας φίλος για compile...και θα μου το ξαναστείλει έτοιμο. Σε .rpm δεν θα το πάρω(ναι τα sources πρέπει να είναι)?Μετά πως το περνάω?

ρυθμίζεις...

$cp arch/<ό,τι έχεις ορίσει ως CPU architecture>/boot/bzImage /boot/neospyrinas

Τα παραπάνω είναι για να κάνεις μόνος σου compile. Αν σου φέρει έτοιμο τον πυρήνα, απλά αντιγράφεις το αρχείο στο /boot και μετά:

Προσθέτεις την αντίστοιχη εγγραφή στο /etc/lilo.conf (κράτα έναν παλιό πυρήνα πρόχειρο, είναι σχεδόν βέβαιο ότι θα χρειαστεί να κάνεις 2-3 φορές compile μέχρι να δουλέψει)

Τρέχεις το lilo και είσαι έτοιμος για ξενύχτια <img src="http://www.insomnia.gr/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Πάντως καλύτερα θα ήταν να κάνεις το compile μόνος σου, παρά να γίνει σε άλλο μηχάνημα με πιθανόν διαφορετική αρχιτεκτονική, κλπ συν ότι πρέπει να σου δώσει ο άλλος και τα modules μαζί. Επιπλέον στατιστικά δε θα δουλέψει με την πρώτη, ενώ θα χρειαστείς σωστά configured kernel sources για να κάνεις compile διάφορα προγράμματα
