Amazon.de Order - Tracking (First Time)

Sorry can't speak Greek, but I have a question.

I have ordered some shoes from amazon.de to Greece around december 16-17. (seller is amazon)

There was no update about the shipments after 18 december until today.

Today I checked i-parcel and saw that;

 

what does it mean by "after successful clearance" ? it this some kind of customs clearance ?

I thought when you buy from other EU countries there is no customs procedure.

And from now on how should I continue tracking ?  will i-parcel give me another tracking number ?

We will go on a vacation between 30 Dec - 2 Jan, and I don't want to miss the shipments.

What happens if the shipments come when I'm not at the address ?

Nothing don't worry is the usual procedure..

elta courier will bring your parcel 

no they don't send to us the new tracking number when the parcel come to Greece

So only way to track the shipment is from iparcel website?

They wont give me an elta tracking number ?

I'm asking because if I can track route I can see the arrival time.

So I can arrange how to pick up shipment before leaving for vacation or arrange somebody to pick up for me.

It is the first time I order something from amazon germany. When I check from your website it says that "Arrived at destination and will be entered into the delivery stream after successful clearance".

Will UPS deliver the shipments or will another delivery company from greece deliver it?

If another company will deliver will you give me another tracking number to see shipment updates/route ?

I'm planning on going for a vacation on 30th december and returning on 2nd January.

I don't want to miss the shipments. Because of that I'm asking the details.

Thanks in advance. (If shipments will arrive after 2nd of January, I have no problem because I'll be at home at that date)

 

From amazon topics I checked in insomnia forum I see that , ELTA delivers the packages in Greece. But;

They replied;

i-parcel reply says that a company called IS&S will make the delivery.

I'm confused. If any of you guys experienced this kind of delivery can you share your information ?

ISS has any local stores like ELTA ? WHat happens if I'm not at home when they come to hand the shipment? How long they keep the shipment until they send back - return?

Ps. In my home country even if it is a standart delivery from amazon , you get tracking number from iparcel site for the local delivery company. That's so strange for greece. (A country in EU should have much better delivery system. I'm shocked)

if dhl packet go to dhl packet tracking and search by your own ..

I received my packages by ELTA without any problem but now I have another problem.

One of the shoes (out of 5) I bought didnt fit as expected so I started a return procedure.

When you start return procedure Amazon germany gives you a DHL label. And says that you can return the item from DHL centers without any cost with that label.

But I'm not sure if that's applicable for Greece DHL (maybe it is just for germany). Should I just send back with ELTA and email them the bill maybe ?

And another question in return page it says return before 2 february.

Does that mean item has to arrive amazon germany before 2 february or Do I need to send/ship the item back to amazon before 2 february?

1. Use DHL. As Amazon states, they won't mustn't charge you anything for the return and if they do (most probable), Amazon will credit you the cost to your bank account - so keep the receipt. If I correctly remember from my experience, I paid the shipping cost and then Amazon sent me the amount to my bank account. I'd suggest to contact Amazon before making the return, in order to clarify this.

One more thing that stems from my experience - take this with a grain of salt; DHL's employee also printed and put the information of the Sender/Receiver on the package, and didn't only use the provided label. So, don't be afraid if anything similar happens to you.

2. You have to send it before the 2nd of February. You're not responsible for the time that the package will be delivered.

Firstly thanks for the reply. I managed to post back the items from DHL but it was a real mess.

First I contacted DHL and explained the situation.
They said I can send the items free of charge by the return label from Amazon.

I took the items to DHL without packing because sometimes UPS,DHL in my home country wants to verify the items inside. 
DHL guy said that I can just leave the items and the return labels, and that he will arrange everything. (without even looking inside etc. O.o)

Then I told him I want to pack the outside return label inside a safe pack by taping to be safer. He said I'm free to do that and he will be happy

I asked them for a big DHL pack to put 2 shoe boxes inside. But they didn't have any big pack so I used the original torn amazon pack and a pack that I took there just in case.

I put the original amazon receipt and return authorization label (barcode) inside. I taped the Amazon Return Label outside of the box in a nylon pack. Then I handed it to the DHL guy. He said everything is ok and I can go. Then I asked him if they will give me some kind of handing proof or electronic bill so that I can track the items and communicate with amazon over them. He said they don't give any kind of receipt or document for handing proof. And he said it is impossible to track the items as they send them to DHL  Center in Athens and they arrange the rest of the shipment. But he said he can just give me a paper that I handed the items to DHL point in handwriting with his name/signature and stamp of DHL point. He said most of the people return items like that and they had no problems. So I accepted and left.

But then I contacted Amazon customer services and explained the situation. The customer representative said that without a proper handing proof or tracking number I won't be able to prove anything if items are lost in the process. And he advised me to send them with paid DHL shipping so that it is trackable and I have some kind of official handing proof. And told me to be assured that my return shipment will be paid back without any problem.

Then I returned to DHL point and send the items with DHL economy. There were only 2 shoebox inside but it cost me 35 euro.

But at least now I have some kind of handing proof, tracking number and a receipt.

I'll update the topic so that other people can benefit from my experience.
