Αγορα καρτας δικτυου για PFsense

Θελω να στησω ενα μηχανακι για pfsense..Αλλα η μητρικη μου εχει καρτα δικτυου 1 GBPS..Σκεφτομαι να αω στη CUDY PE25 .Ειναι συμβατη?Γιατι απο οσο ξερω μονο με intel chip παιζει σωστα το pfsense..Καμια προταση για καρτα δικτυου?

I would avoid it. It works, but with 'additional configuration' as far as I know. the chip is "Realtek RTL8125", not the nicest to use.

Will the PF run on bare metal or on top of proxmox?

on top of proxmox..Do you have any suggestion for pci nic at least 2.5 GBPS?

hm.. if its on top of proxmox you might be cool. Linux support is better then you create the vbr0X and you attach it to the VM.

Even though I have netgate official HW, I run my critical PF on a proxmox VM and to be honest I have lived with USB NICs on a macmini for 2-3 years. I never had a problem with USB NICs (Many say nasty things about USB nics.)

X550 PCI card maybe? Anything Intel based? Is this for WAN or LAN side?

the idea is to setup Pfsense directly to ONT for making pppoe conection..but i try the solution of proxmox with vbrOX

No need to passthrough something. This is an OTE direct to ONT (PPPoE) setup.

PCI NIC is attached to a vbr and then the vbr to the VM. Inside the VM you need to deal with PPPOE and VLAN Tags.
