Καλησπέρα.

Ψάχνω να δω online streaming δύο παλιές ελληνικές ταινίες ασπρόμαυρες, αλλά τις βρίσκω μόνο έγχρωμες (όπως έχουν μετατραπεί):

α. Ο σπαγγοραμένος [1967] (Κωνσταντάρας)

β. Το κοροϊδάκι της δεσποινίδος [1960] (Καρέζη - Ηλιόπουλος)

Δεν γνωρίζω το που μπορείς να βρεις τις ταινίες, αλλά με την ευκαιρία του θέματος ήθελα να σχολιάσω το πόσο κακό είναι αυτό που κάνουν, τώρα και στην Ελλάδα τα τελευταία χρόνια, με τον χρωματισμό των ασπρόμαυρων ταινιών. Όταν οι άνθρωποι γύριζαν τότε τις ταινίες, έκαναν συγκεκριμένες καλλιτεχνικές επιλογές, για να μεταφέρουν όσο το δυνατόν σωστότερα θεωρούσαν την εικόνα, με τον περιορισμό των χρωμάτων που υπήρχε. Ερχόμενοι τώρα μετά από χρόνια κάποιοι τρίτοι να προσθέσουν χρώμα, το μόνο που καταφέρνουν είναι να αλλοιώνουν το πρωτότυπο έργο δείχνοντας παράλληλα ασέβεια για όλους τους καλλιτέχνες που είχαν δουλέψει στο αυθεντικό. Φυσικά και το αποτέλεσμα είναι σχεδόν πάντοτε κάκιστο, με μεταξύ άλλων, ανθρώπους κίτρινους, λες και είναι πτώματα.

Τα είχε πει και ο κορυφαίος Jimmy Stewart.

HOLLYWOOD -- Actor Jimmy Stewart condemned a new process of computer colorization of black-and-white movie classics, calling it a 'terrible injustice' and saying it made actors' skin look 'orange-yellow.'

Speaking at an American Film Institute news conference Wednesday, the veteran actor specifically denounced the colorization of his It's a Wonderful Life.'

One studio that colors the old films defended the practice as an enhancement of the originals, making them more accessible to television.

Stewart, the leading man of Hollywood's old guard, said he could not bear to sit through the version of his 1946 holiday classic, which was recently colored by Hal Roach Studios.

'I think the audience will object to it and I certainly object to it,' Stewart told reporters.

He said the coloring process made the characters in 'It's a Wonderful Life' appear to have 'an orange-yellow' skin color.

He said he felt sorry for the photographers who labored to create images in black and white.

'What a terrible injustice was made to these men who were cameramen,' Stewart said.

'It's hard to think of the distress and disappointment these men would have if they found out their pictures, their tremendous amount of work would be wiped out by color.'

The American Film Institute released a position paper calling the colorization process an attack on the 'artistic integrity' of black-and-white movies.

'The American Film Institute considers it essential that black-and-white films be presented only to the public in black and white,' the group's Board of Trustees said in the position paper.

'To do otherwise is to destroy our national film history and the rich heritage it represents.'

Earl Glick, chairman of Hal Roach Studios, defended the technology and insisted, 'We have increased and improved 'It's a Wonderful Life.''

The colorization process does not involve the original print of a film. Instead, a videotape copy is made and colored by computer.
