Starforce Copy-Protection Company links to Piracy

A developer of the critically-acclaimed strategy game Galactic Civilizations II has posted a message discussing how an employee of the company behind the StarForce copy-protection had the nerve to link to a site distributing torrents of the pirated version of the game on the StarForce message boards. This was supposed to prove that "several thousands of people are downloading the pirated version" after the developers decided to not use the StarForce copy protection or similar methods. The developer of the game, Stardock, believes the primary weapon in fighting piracy is "rewarding customers through convenient, frequent, free updates" if they have a legit serial number.

θα κυκλοφορούν ένα μισοτελειωμένο παιχνίδι με λίγες μονάδες, λίγες αποστολές και τα υπόλοιπα θα πρέπει να τα κάνεις download ή ένα παιχνίδι με bugs και μετά θα κυκλοφορούν ατελείωτα patches; Έξυπνη και αποτελεσματικότατη μέθοδος, αλλά άδικη (για τους μη έχοντες ιντερνετ), ίσως και παράνομη.

Κακά τα ψέματα, το starforce τα καταφέρνει μία χαρά. Εκτός και αν είσαι τόσο πορωμένος να κάνεις ένα σωρό κολπάκια και να βυσματώνεις/ξεβυσματώνεις drives. Αλλά αυτοί (οι σχετικά λίγοι) θα κάνουν έτσι και αλλιώς τα πάντα για να παίξουν.

διάβασα το link του privateer και είδα ότι γίνεται χαμός εκεί. Από τη στιγμή όμως που κυκλοφορεί και το starforce removal tool, προς τί όλη αυτή η φασαρία; επιμένω, χίλιες φορές starforce, παρά ημιτελή παιχνίδια, όπου θα πρέπει κάθε μία βδομάδα να κατεβάζω updates και patches.

Ευτυχώς είσαι από τους λίγους "έξυπνους" που το καταφέρνουν αυτό, το starforce έχει δημιουργήσει πάρα πολλά προβλήματα στους περισσότερους, για αυτό και υπάρχει άνοδος στις πωλήσεις γνήσιων παιχνιδιών.
