DriveCheck performs read and write tests on your drive. Within minutes, you will know if the drive passed or failed. The test can be run on SCSI and EIDE drives on a Windows platform. A new CD-R or CD-RW disc must be used to perform the test (a used CD-RW disc can be used if a Full Erase has been done). A formatted disc cannot be used. Once the tests are completed, you will get a message telling you if the drive passed or failed the diagnosis. A file called RMA.zip will be created on your hard drive, containing the test results. If your DriveCheck test fails, you may contact Sony Technical Support to receive authorization to send your drive in for replacement.
