Η Bitmex ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ότι το φθινόπωρο θα στείλει ένα Bitcoin σε φυσική μορφή στην Σελήνη. Συγκεκριμένα η BitMex έχει δημιουργήσει ένα Bitcoin σε φυσική μορφή στα πρότυπα των πρώτων Casascius coins  με το private key του κλεισμένο μέσα στο κέλυφος του νομίσματος. Αυτό το νόμισμα θα το τοποθετήσει στην Σελήνη η διαστημική εταιρεία Astrobotic που έχει επιλεγεί από την Nasa για να ξεκινήσει από το Φθινόπωρο επιστημονικές αποστολές στην Σελήνη.

BitMEX will mint a one-of-a-kind physical bitcoin, similar to the Casascius coins of 2013, which will be delivered to the Moon by Astrobotic. The coin will hold one bitcoin at an address to be publicly released, underneath a tamper-evident hologram covering. The coin will proudly display the BitMEX name, the mission name, the date it was minted and the bitcoin price at the time of minting.
