Rivendell is full of whores and bikers and Tom Bombadil is included as played by Billy Bob Thornton.

 

STAND OUT SET PIECE: Frodo steals a car after shelobs lair and races threw mordor chased by orcs in pick up trucks. Drives Car into Mount Doom and plummets into fire with car and ring, all character run in at last minute weeping,....when suddenly they see Frodo crawl back up the ledge. Middle Earth then gets down to inspiring rock anthem.

Bruce Willis is immediately cast as Gandalf, and the Hobbits are reduced in age to between 3 and 8 and cast as various Osmonds. M Night makes a guest appearance as Aragorn, and Mel Gibson makes a brief appearance as Gollum, during which his face does not so much as twitch, signifying his inner agony. Nothing much then happens through two and half movies. At the end of the third, the ring turns out of be from a Christmas cracker, Gollum is really Frodo's father, and the whole thing may have been a dream. Or may not. This twist is signalled at the start of the first movie, when Frodo puts on the ring and finds himself in Philadelphia.

Changes to material : Frodo is rewritten as female and played by Milla Jovovich.

Changes to Material: Gimli carries a log everywhere with him. Legolas is dressed as a cowboy. Boromir is possessed by an evil spirit called Killer BOB. Frodo is played by Kyle McLachlan and Saruman by an oxygen-mask-wearing Dennis Hopper. 2/3 of the way through the film Frodo drops the ring, and after this point a series of disconnected scenes make plain that Frodo and Sam have swapped identities. Or something.

 

STAND OUT SET PIECE: The Council of Elrond, which now takes place in a room surrounded entirely by red curtains. Elrond is a dwarf who talks backwards.

All we be lost unless the young innocent looking Hobbit and his foolish companions don't destroy the one ring created by the large red bad guy.

STAND OUT SET PIECE :

 

Legolas, Gimli and Aragorn save the day by using their shields to reflect light onto the Uruk Hai and blind them into submission while Sam tosses the ring, a token of his affection for Frodo, into a river and Frodo nearly drowns under the ice looking for it.

CHANGES TO THE MATERIAL - There are not nine members of the fellowship, there are 25, and they're all packing pulse rifles.

 

STANDOUT SET PIECE : The fellowship set up automated sentry guns at the Black Gate, only to find that they cannot use firepower so close to Orodruin. They are reduced to running around blindly and singing the odd Orc with their flamethrowers. Frodo and Sam, are the only survivors, Sauron goes back into stasis.

STAND OUT SET PIECE - Musical number at start as 200 strong hobbit dance troop sing with more innuendos than a carry-on movie.

CHANGES TO MATERIAL - lotr is renamed as "the Vampire Zombie Were Dog Monster from outer space." Most of the cast is made up of Ed's mates and family. Ed wood plays himself as a crossdresser who must come to terms with his feelings and defeat the horrible vampire zombies from mars that threaten to take his ring,.....the rest of his jewellery and his collection of Angorra sweaters.

 

STAND OUT SET PIECE - Bella Logisi catches fire at mount doom(debate still remains to this date whether it was intentional or not), the strings on the nazgul are visible and seven hubcaps are used for the walls of gondor.

Changes to the material. Its set in fin-de-siecle Paris. The Hobbits have been reduced to a comedy warm up actfor Jim Broadbent who plays an over the top Glimli (Just think like a virgin in Dwarvish) . The Ring will belong to Arwen which Sauron will be trying to get back on his finger !!! Legolas becomes a crossdressing Ladyboy caberet dancer whilst Gollum is played by John Leguizamo with a camp french voice. Cue Eowyn and Arwen in stockings and Basques , Mad Dance routines and general Exuberence .

Standout scene.

Sauron paints a Mine entrance on the side of the Misty Mountains. Frodo passes straight through. Mystified, Sauron raps the solid rock, then gets trampled by a Balrog running out of the mine. Orson Welles' version is mistaken for a newsreel. Half the population of America sets off for the weapontake at Edoras :D
