Cranston was on Howard Stern a few weeks back. Cranston mentioned he has a 10 point scale on which he judges a script he's given or a project he's offered. Well, a 10 on his scale is "I have to do this project", he said Breaking Bad was a 10 and when asked about Godzilla Cranston said it was a solid 8.5

Were you worried about redoing something so quintessentially Japanese?

 

If you are telling the Godzilla story, you cannot separate it from the nuclear element, and the first thing I asked was whether there was going to be the nuclear element, as that now, in Japan, is a really sensitive problem. I was worried about how I could use that and how I could make that okay, but Gareth understood those feelings.

 

But with this I was really nervous. I obviously have so many Japanese friends, and all of them were saying, “A Godzilla movie? In Hollywood? The last one was…” But I trust Gareth

Bryan Cranston recent interview:
 

Q: Why did you want to do Godzilla?

A: I initially turned it down—I thought, “I can’t do Godzilla ­after Breaking Bad; that’s a huge step down.” But I was surprised at the level of the writing, and the director, Gareth Edwards, had some great ideas to strengthen the heart of the story. And why not do something that’s fun and escapist? So I got down off my high horse and said, “Yeah, let’s do it.”

 

To κακο ειναι οτι κοπηκε το cameo του Takarada, αλλα θα μπει στο blu-ray/dvd.

 

It was something Gareth REALLY wanted in the movie and it was cut at the very last minute due to test screening. People felt it (the scene) was too long. He's upset it was cut but it will be on the blu-ray/dvd.
