Δεν ξέρω αν έχει ξαναμπεί αλλά αυτή είναι από τις πιο ενδιαφέρουσες θεωρίες που έχω διαβάσει:

Will Tony Stark be the one to kill Captain America in Avengers 4?

The most popular theory is that at least Captain America or Tony Stark are going to die in the upcoming fourth movie; both Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. are expected to leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the film as their contracts are up.

But is it possible that Cap will actually be the only Avenger to die – and at the hands of Tony Stark?

To deep dive into this theory we have to go back to 2012 and the very first Avengers film.

In that film we see Cap crouching over a presumed-dead Iron Man, who had fallen back to earth after the battle for New York.

Then in Age Of Ulron we saw in a possible future vision Tony leaning over a dying Cap, before Civil War saw Cap kneeling over a defeated Tony at the conclusion of the film that saw the pair go up against each other for the first time over the Sokovia Accords.

And that means that if we follow the pattern, Tony is now going to end up holding on to a dead Cap when they next meet.

Of course, this theory itself doesn’t lend itself to the idea that Tony kills Cap.

But we know that Tony is the man who has, in many respects, been at the front of the Avengers, and the Marvel writers have often expressed how important it is in a script to make sure that Tony specifically has emotional torment inflicted on him.

The death of Tony’s father in particular has always been a running theme throughout the MCU – after all, his falling out with Cap was all over the knowledge that Cap knew Bucky had killed his parents.

In Infinity War the pair did not see each other – with Tony spending most of the film off planet – but their strained relationship continued to be at the forefront of the film, with Tony holding on to the phone that held Cap’s number but refusing to call it.

This dynamic will definitely play a major role in the next film which we know has to focus on reversing the effects of Thanos’ decision to kill half of the world’s population, and this is where the devastating theory comes into play.

Tony seems like the obvious choice right now to be the one to overturn Thanos’ actions – after all, the two have been given many similar parallels – but as we now know, to obtain the Soul Stone, one must make a sacrifice and kill the one they love.

Back in late 2017 the winner of the Omaze contest got to visit the set of Avengers 4 and revealed that he saw Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brie Larson, and Robert Downey Jr all on set together, filming on a ‘green screen field’.

RDJ confirmed that it was a ‘ship’ but what is most intriguing is the group of characters involved.

Why would Cap, Black Widow, Pepper Potts, Captain Marvel and RDJ be on a ship together?

Captain Marvel is of course knowledgeable in Kree space, which is where Vormir is – and Vormir is where Red Skull is, keeping a cursed eye over all who try to obtain the Stone.

And so isn’t it possible that Tony, ever the martyr, has tricked his fiance Pepper into going on this trip because he knows the price that needs to paid, and he plans to convince Pepper to kill him so that the group can get hold of the Stone?

Pepper will never accept this agreement and this is where starkravinghazelnuts’ theory comes into play.

That an argument will take place between the pair and ‘so Steve will step in and offer to die instead’.

‘Because there’s a reason the camera focused on Steve looking sad when Wanda and Vision were having their argument’ in Avengers 4, adds the fan.

‘Steve is not going to want to relive that conversation. You know he said, “We don’t trade lives,” in Infinity War for the sheer irony of him eating those words later. Plus? Red Skull was made the guardian of the Soul Stone for a reason.

‘He’s Cap’s nemesis. It goes without saying Cap and Red Skull will have some kind of face-to-face in Avengers 4 – which means taking a trip to Vormir.’

MIC. DROP.

This theory relies heavily on the idea that Tony loves Cap enough for him to be worthy of a sacrifice but he does; we know he does because he carried that phone around everywhere even if he didn’t have the courage to call the number.

During the Infinity War press tour, RDJ was asked how he thought Tony’s view of love had changed over the last 19 films and 10 years – he went from a playboy with no one to a fiance and strong friends – and RDJ simply said: ‘I think as he gets older, he’s now started to think about universal law of love that involves sacrifice.’

Many took this to mean his own sacrifice – but Tony has sacrificed himself over and over and over again throughout the MCU.

What he has yet to do is sacrifice someone else. And having it be Steve? Well, that would be the biggest torment the writers could ever inflict on him.

Εντάξει δεν συγκρίνονται ως ηθοποιοί. Τόσο ο Νορτον όσο και ο Μπάνα είναι έτη φωτός καλύτεροι. Ο Ρούφαλο όμως παίζει τζάμπα και εφόσον ο ρόλος του Χαλκ είναι συμπληρωματικός στις τελευταίες ταινίες δεν υπήρχε λόγος να ξοδευτούν πολύ .😉
